Handrails
We have two materials to choose from for the creation of our handrails – timber (no. 14, no. 7, round or rectangle) and stainless steel (round or square). Both are suited to a range of different stair designs in Toorak, so we are sure that you will have no problems finding a match. We can also work with handrail features, which are found at the end of the rail and add a nice decorative touch. Our team can help you choose which type will best match your design.
Posts
The presence of stainless steel and timber posts is imperative to the structural integrity of your staircase. The posts literally mark the ends of the flight, provide the handrail with support and can also form a decorative feature. A number of features can be added to your posts to further enhance the appearance of your Toorak home (such as caps and beading). Timber is an especially popular choice, as it is available in square or turned shapes and can be painted or stained.
Nosing
The stair nosing is the name given to the edge of the treads and provides them with stability, which is a must for all Toorak homes. We have three options to choose from – pencil round (which protrudes out slightly and curves around), square (which protrudes out slightly with square edges) and no overhang (which sits flush with the tread). Whilst all of these options can be carpeted, we have found that curved and no overhang tend to look the best.
