This means that you can rest assured your Kew staircase design project is in safe hands – we take the time to learn exactly what it is you are looking for and want to ensure your satisfaction. We understand that stair nosing and balustrading are essential components of your design, and want to ensure that you are fully aware of what these parts are.

Staircases
We can work with a variety of staircase designs, ensuring that the overall theme and décor of your Kew home can be matched. Whether you are interested in modern, contemporary, traditional, feature, open, classic, closed, combination, concealed or cut stairs, we are sure to have worked on a similar project previously and will have a solution to suit. We understand that this is an integral part of your home and an important feature, so it needs to be done right.

Nosing
The stair nosing actually frames the edge of each tread and makes them obvious to those walking up and down the flight (helping to prevent tripping and other safety hazards). We offer three styles that are sure to suit your Kew home – pencil round, square and no overhang. If you would like your stairs to be covered with carpet or a rug of some kind, we can help you to choose a nosing that will be best suited to this treatment without creating additional hazards.

Balustrading
Whilst we are able to work with a range of materials, we have found that a timber balustrade tends to be the most popular choice for Kew homes. It will suit a variety of themes and décor, is incredibly versatile, and can be stained or even painted in a colour of your choice. Our balustrading can be made from basically any type of timber that can be polished and in available in a choice of either square or turned timber balusters.

If you want to learn more about any of the staircase designs we have outlined here, please contact the team at Gowling Stairs.
