Timber
This is one of our most popular materials, likely because a timber balustrade will complement most staircase styles. Some of the timbers that we can use include pine, KDHW or any other exotic type – basically any that that can be polished will be suitable. We can craft balusters in either square or turned shapes in a range of standard sizes, ensuring that you achieve the perfect look for your stairs.
Stainless Steel
This is another popular material and is able to give your traditional stairs a distinctly modern edge. Your balusters will either be 16mm x 16mm square or 16mm diameter round steel tubing that has been arranged vertically along the length of your staircase. This type of balustrade can be combined with timber in the form of a handrail and will suit most staircase styles.
Wire
This is a material that is slowly gaining in popularity amongst Glen Waverley homes and is especially popular in modern or contemporary designs. A wire balustrade can be used in conjunction with timber or stainless steel posts (the wire fixings are welded to the uprights) or they can be used alone (the wire is tensioned at fixing points along the handrail).
